Prof.Dr. Pham Hung Viet received received his Diploma-Chemist in 1975 from Martin – Luther University, Halle Wittenberg (Germany) and his MSc and PhD in Chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (Switzerland) in 1987. His research topics include (i) Distribution, and transport of microplastics and POPs in food and the environment, (ii) Contamination of ground and drinking water by heavy metals; (iii) Development of portable capillary electrophoresis devices for environmental monitoring and food safety control; (iv) Research and development of folk remedies based on phytochemical studies on medicinal.
The list of publications includes: 200 publications in internationally refereed journals (190 WoS/Scopus papers) (one paper was published on Nature - Letter, one on Nature Geoscience and one on PNAS), more than 200 published conference contributions; 14 book chapters, 4 textbooks and monographies. According to Google Scholar, his h-index reached 73 with a total of 22,227 citations; according to Web of Science, a h-index of 53. Prof. Viet has been ranked among the world top scientist list for 4 years (2021 – 2024) according to the website Research.com. In addition, Prof. Viet is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices (WoS, IF = 6.7, Q1), and serves as a permanent editorial board of the VNU Journal of Science, the Journal of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Series B and Series C), and the Journal of Science and Technology of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the co-chairman of the international scientific conference - analytica Vietnam from 2009 to now.
